Limitless Brainstorms
I recently read a book called ‘‘The Almanack of Naval Ravikant’’ by Eric Jorgenson and I found it to be extremely valuable, especially considering my current position in life.
Naval is a great entrepreneur and investor who I’ve been following for quite a while on Twitter.
He argues that to win in business, one must have the ability to use leverage, which means achieving exponentially greater results with minimal effort.
He says that there are 4 types of leverage: Capital, Labor, Code, and Media.
While Capital and Labor have been around for quite a long time, I believe that the two latter ones are an absolute goldmine, especially for the younger generation like myself. Like Naval says, these forms of leverage have ‘‘no marginal cost of replication.’’
Code is an interesting one considering the increasing popularity of AI in the last year and the incredible technological advancements occurring continuously. When seeing Mark Zuckerberg, the Lary Page, and Bill Gates, it’s very easy to think that code is an incredible multiplier. Yet, few people are taking advantage of it.
The most profitable way to take advantage of it is to build or create software that procures a solution in a specific niche and market. Once the core functionality is built, it can be sold multiple times at a recurring base without any additional costs of replication.
This is why it goes without of doubt that knowing basic coding fundamentals, having a deep comprehension of computer science or technology, and leveraging technologies in business can lead to exponential outcomes.
I’d say that media is also incredibly interesting.
Back in the day, the only forms of media available were printed material like newspapers and books, broadcast communications like TV and radio, movies, and music.
These days we have access to social media-which to be fair completely changed the game.
Everyone is more connected than ever thanks to smartphones, with the average American spending several hours per day on their cellphones.
Everyone can share small pieces of content that reach thousands and millions of people with just the tap of a few buttons.
Everyone can also connect and exchange with pretty much everyone on the planet, something that was never possible before.
With a minimal online presence and the right outreach strategies, one can connect with athletes, entrepreneurs, investors, and artists all around the globe.
While social media has its downsides, it can also be used as an extremely powerful tool.
Talking for myself, I’m learning how to code and I’ll post more frequently relevant content on social media to maximize my leverage.
Best,
Greg
